Dear Conway

You should be very proud of all your staff, whatever their role.  Throughout Geoff Cornell’s illness and death your staff dealt with Geoff and Mary with care, compassion, understanding and gentleness.  But what has touched Phil  is the way that it has extended to us too.  They were sensitive, thoughtful at every visit, feeding us, making us cups of tea at all sorts of times, looking after us too throughout the 2 weeks Geoff was so ill.  We have experience of other care home situations, but your staff are a credit to Ashfields. Care staff, Kitchen staff, Management too.  It made a huge difference to us.

Dear Conway

We have not met but I would like to pass on my thanks to you and everyone at Ashfields who looked after my mum Patricia, for her last few months.  Although she was not able to enjoy the facilities, I feel she was well cared for and looked after, which was a great comfort.

Best Regards

Patrick Nelson

To all Ashfields staff

Phil and I would like to say a very personal thank you to all of you during Geoff’s illness and death.  It was a difficult time for all of us as a family, but over the 2 weeks Geoff was too ill, you showed Geoff such care and compassion in the way you looked after him, retaining his dignity at all times.  You were so considerate with Mary too and the focus was never just Geoff.  But in addition you showed compassion, care and thoughtfulness to Phil and I which will always remain with us from a kind word, as “are you ok?” to plentiful offers of drinks (even decaf tea!), biscuits, to feeding us at short notice when we needed to stay.  It has been a blessing to build relationships with you as a staff through an emotionally and physically exhausting time.  Your sensitivity, understanding touched us both.

Thank you

with love from us both, Liz and Phil Cornell

Just a little note to say a very big THANKYOU for caring for my Mum, Jean, over the last seven months.  I certainly could not have managed without you and I know she loved her room and she also made a few friends.  I know we had a few problems getting mum to eat over the last few weeks but I do know that she loved the special refreshments!!!   “Its good for you, you know !!”

Many, Many thanks to you all you are all angels.

To Sandra and all at Ashfields Care Home

Please convey my sincere thanks to everyone who was involved in my mums care during her stay with you in Room 32 (Margaret)

I cant express enough how much I have appreciated your help and support over the last 3 weeks of her life.

Everyone always thinks that they are on their own at these time and no one could possibly understand what they are going through, but everyone at Ashfields made me feel very supported and not for one instance isolated in a rapidly changing situation to which I had no control.  That is what I thank you for the most.

This is then a personal invite to  join me in the Thanksgiving Service for the life of Margaret Knowles which is being held at Manfield Road Methodist Church on Wednesday 29th July 2015 at 12 Noon.

There will be a cup of tea in the Schoolroom afterwards before I go to Mansfield Crematorium for the Committal Service at 2.45pm

My best wishes to you all and many thanks

Susan Knowles
